Chess Move Challenge
Can you tell if the chess move was made by a human or a computer?
What is this about?
We are a group of students from Poznań University of Technology, currently working on our engineering thesis. Our goal is to create a chessbot which plays like a human. This test is part of our project, where we explore whether players can identify if a move is made by a human player or by PikeBot, our custom-built AI bot. To learn more, check out our About section or visit our GitHub page.
How does it work?
PikeBot has analyzed over half a million of human chess games to identify patterns and determine which moves are typically human-made and which are not. We use the information it gives us and an evaluation of that position made by Stockfish to choose what move is most probable.
How to fill the test?
Simply select your chess ELO and click start. You'll be shown two images of a chessboard — one before the move and one after. Your task is to decide whether the move was made by a human. There's no need to submit anything; your answers will be automatically saved. Thank you for your help!
